The work to be done generally consists of the replacement of two existing bridges with single span concrete PC/PS wide-flange girder bridges and reconstruction and realignment of the approach roads to each bridge, located along Marsh Creek Road, approximately 4 miles apart, in Contra Costa County southeast of Clayton, site 1, and in Contra Costa County southwest of Brentwood, site 2. The reinforced concrete bridges abutments are supported with CIDH concrete piles. Work includes clearing and grubbing activities, tree removal, grading, bridge removal and single stage bridge construction, roadway construction in stages, construction of drainage facilities, storm drainage pipes and outfalls, the relocation of above ground and underground utilities, and pavement delineation.

Typical projects may include new construction, building renovations or modernizations, remodeling of an entire building or specific areas within a building, tenant improvements, exterior building restorations, MEP upgrades, structural improvements, code-related improvements and deferred maintenance. Types of County facilities may include office buildings, call centers, detention and secured facilities, fire stations, and health and medical facilities. While not currently contemplated, projects may include new "built from the ground up" facilities. Assignments may also include investigations, studies, and reports. Projects may include Fire District buildings/projects. It is unknown at this time how many assignments will be issued or whether the entire total contract amount will be utilized.

The work to be done generally consists of surface treatment work in the unincorporated Bay Point and Contra Costa Centre areas. Work in Bay Point includes applying either an asphalt rubber chip seal covered with a type 2 slurry seal or applying a type 2 slurry seal only on various roads; select roads will require a mill and overlay. Work in the unincorporated area of Contra Costa Centre includes applying a micro-surfacing on various roads. Work in both areas also includes pavement surface preparation including: weed spray, crack sealing, pavement failure repair, edge grinding, and thermoplastic stripe removal; adjusting and setting survey monuments, placement of thermoplastic traffic striping and pavement markings, and traffic signal loop installation.
