Rodeo Downtown Infrastructure Project

Walnut Creek Crosswalk Improvements

The work to be done generally consists of installing Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at two crosswalk locations in unincorporated Walnut Creek; the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Bridgefield Road (Site 1) and the intersection of Walden Road and Westcliffe Lane (Site 2). Work at both locations includes installation of detectable warning surfaces at the ends of the crosswalks, trenching, installation of conduits, electrical cable, pull boxes, and electrical service pedestals. Site 1 work also includes construction of an ADA accessible curb ramp on the north side of the crossing and a solar powered advance warning RRFB. The Site 2 RRFB System includes a passive pedestrian detection system.

Countywide Guardrail Upgrades

The work to be done generally consists of replacing guardrail end treatments with either FLEAT or SKT terminal systems and adjusting, replace, or transitioning existing Metal Beam Guardrail (MBGR) to Midwest Guardrail System (MGS) at three different sites as described below: Marsh Creek Road – Work consists of replacing and adjusting existing guardrail systems including posts, railing, and end treatments with the Midwest Guardrail System standard as shown on the plans. Guardrail will have both wood and metal posts. Site limits are from Clayton city limits to Camino Diablo Road in Brentwood. San Pablo Dam Road – Work consists of replacing guardrail rail elements including upgrading end treatments, adjusting height and replacing metal rails on existing posts to the Midwest Guardrail System standard. Site limits are from the Richmond city limits to Bear Creek Road.Vasco Road – Work consists of replacing guardrail in order to transition from Metal Beam Guardrail to Midwest Guardrail System and replacing end treatments and adjusting guardrail. Some guardrail in the southern portion of Vasco Road has a wildlife exclusion fence that will need to be reattached to the new posts. Site limits are from Walnut Boulevard to the Alameda County Line.

San Pablo Dam Road Traffic Safety Improvements

The work to be done generally consists of installing a centerline rumble strip and channelizers between the city limits of the City of Richmond and the city limits of the City of Orinda, reconstructing median islands, replacing roadside signs to meet new retro-reflectivity standards, installation of speed feedback signs, partial slurry seal, removal and replacement of thermoplastic stripes and pavement markings, and restriping for a bike lane at two intersections of San Pablo Dam Road and Old San Pablo Dam Road.

Bisso Data Center Improvements

Primarily electrical upgrades and specialized cooling for new data center equipment. It will include, but not be limited to, installation and anchoring of 25 owner furnished cabinet assemblies (88.5”x30”x48”), procurement and installation of two (2) redundant, parallel uninterrupted power supplies (150kva/480V), power distribution units, busways and supporting infrastructure including conduit, conductors and associated structural supports and bracing. Demolition and modification of existing electrical equipment and circuits will be required. In addition, scope will include procurement and installation of row based, air-cooled, precision cooling systems.

2019 Full Trash Capture

The work to be done generally consists of providing and installing full trash capture units for 134 inlets on various sites in the El Sobrante, Concord, Crockett, and Bay Point Areas in Contra Costa County. There are a total of 97 Connector Pipe Screens and 84 Automatic Retractable Screens to be installed on these sites. Project includes clearing debris from inlets, and preparing a photo inventory of each installation.
