The pipe invert will be filled with concrete baffles for fish passage. Work will also include temporary water diversion and dewatering, reconstructing of the roadway and roadside ditch, replacing roadway striping, and reconstructing and stabilizing the embankment using rock slope protection.

At the Alhambra Valley Road at Ferndale site, work includes construction of a soldier pile retaining wall, drainage improvements, guardrail and vegetation control, and reconstruction of the roadway. At the Alhambra Valley Road West of Castro Ranch Road site, work includes remedial grading and reconstruction of the embankment, construction of guardrail and vegetation control, and reconstruction of the roadway. At Bear Creek Road, there are two sites, 3A and 3B. At site 3A, work includes construction of a soldier pile retaining wall, drainage improvements, guardrail and vegetation control, and reconstruction of the roadway. At site 3B, work includes remedial grading and reconstruction of the embankment, construction of guardrail and vegetation control, and reconstruction of the roadway.

Happy Valley Road Embankment Repair

The work to be done generally consists of repair and restoration of a 250 foot stretch of northbound Happy Valley Road, approximately 0.2 mile southeast of the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Bear Creek Road. The work will reconstruct the northbound lane and restore two-way traffic to this portion of Happy Valley Road. The work includes installing an approximately 68 foot long soldier pile retaining wall with necessary safety railing and barrier on the east side of the roadway to support the reconstructed roadway and repairing settled roadway affected by the eroded embankment with structural backfill and asphalt surface. Drainage improvements will also be installed.

Kirker Pass Road Safety Improvements

2021 Countywide Surface Treatment Project

The work to be done generally consists of applying an asphalt rubber chip seal covered with a type II slurry seal to various roads in the unincorporated areas of North Richmond, Castle Hill, Alamo, Clyde and Concord areas. Select roads El Sobrante and in the North Richmond and Clyde area will require a Mill and Overlay. Work will also include surface preparation including, weed spray, edge grinding. Pavement failure repair work will be required in the North Richmond, Castle Hill, and Alamo areas, striping removal, adjusting and setting survey monuments to finish grade, and placement of thermoplastic striping and pavement markings. Crack sealing will be completed by the County Maintenance Division prior to the start of this contract.
